On the weekends, we like to brunch.

It’s a weekend morning and you begin to stir as you feel the morning sun. As you rub the sleep out of your eyes and try and figure out how you want to start your day, only one thing comes to mind: brunch.

Brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch, in the very literal sense of how the word came about. It is usually eaten in the late morning to early afternoon, between roughly 10am-2pm. This timeframe places the meal in between breakfast, which occurs earlier in the morning, and lunch, which is later in the afternoon. It originated in England in the late 19th century and became popular in the States in the 1930s.

One of the beauties of brunch is that it involved both breakfast and lunch foods. While the more popular option is to opt for breakfast foods, such as eggs, French toast, and bacon, many establishments also offer things such as a burger and fries to satisfy those with more of a lunch craving. But that is not the only way we know brunch. It is an infamous meal that is also for having some sort of alcohol drink involved with the meal. The most popular brunch beverage is mimosas, with Bloody Mary’s taking in a close second. Many have their coffee Irish or margaritas instead of juice, and it is a good way to spend the first part of a weekend day. In many places, the tradition is to have a bottomless option, allowing patrons to pay a flat fee for bottomless alcoholic drinks for a certain amount of time.

Moby Dick’s has a seasonal brunch option. For an extra $15, you can add bottomless mimosas to your meal along with an entrée. For an extra $20, you can choose other brunch beverages instead of a mimosa as a bottomless compliment. The promotion runs during various times throughout the year, so be sure to check the website to see if it is going on when you dine. And of course, the brunch menu itself is filled with some Moby Dick classics, such as their Huevos Rancheros, Blueberry Pancakes, Sausage and Eggs, and Golden Brown French Toast. Pair that with mimosas, Blood Mary’s, screwdrivers, or classic margaritas, you have one refreshing way to begin your Saturday or Sunday morning. Their brunch runs on the weekends from 7am-12pm. Be sure to be an early bird who catches the worm, so as to give yourself as much time as possible enjoying the first meal of the day. Happy brunching!
